Introduction to the MJK - Rainbow Home
The Rainbow Homes is an innovative program designed to provide Residential Care facility for vulnerable girls in the „on and of the streets‟ category, where timely intervention can go long way in protecting most of their rights, which their own families are not able to offer. Children selected based on a criterion are provided continued support for completion of schooling and other services required for all round development; if necessary the support is extended for longer periods until the girl is able to stand independently on her own abilities. The focus is on destigmatizing the street children status; mainstream them into regular schools and preparing them to complete on an equal platform with the general population children. Since, 2002, Partnership foundation has been supporting 18 Rainbow Homes in the country and providing services to over 1,200 street and vulnerable girls.
